The new LUMIX G VARIO 45-150mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. lens incorporates Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which makes it easy to shoot super clear shots even in low-lit situations by suppressing the blur caused by a hand movement. The lens’s superior inner focus system enables excellent resolution and contrast from full life-size magnification to infinity and the inclusion of a stepping motor makes focusing action smooth and silent for use in both video and photo recording. When mounted on the cameras of the LUMIX G line, users can also take advantage of the high-speed, high-precision AF (Auto Focus) System.
Comprised of 12 elements in nine groups, one UHR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens and two aspherical lenses in the LUMIX G VARIO 45-150mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. achieves uniform sharpness from the center to the corners for high optical performance. The lens’s seven aperture blades produce an attractive smoothness in out-of-focus areas, even when shooting at large aperture. Sharp fast and accurate AF performance. Mega OIS stabilization. Very light. Metal mount.Not constant aperture. Not fast lens in low light. Mostly plastic construction. None weather sealed.
Once again. This is one of the best kit kens there is.

It is sharp and accurate and AF performance is fast and pinpoint.
Not much to say other than been taking great photos and videos using this. Very good stanilization, even better than the 14-42 kit lens. Gives 90-300mm FF equivalent.
Again not fast aperture but i dont use this indoors and only outdoors with good light where this lens shines.
I recommend this lens. -
A very competent lens optically and with nice mechanical feel.Don't buy it hoping that Panasonic's much- heralded DUAL IS feature will enable amazingly slow shutter speeds - if you are like me, it won't.
I have no real complaints about the optics of this lens, which are nice and contrasty - except that I slightly prefer the look I get from the even-cheaper M.Zuiko 40-150 "plastic fantastic".

I also find the Olympus focuses slightly faster and more securely, with less tendency to miss, than this one. Don't ask me why, but it's what I've found with my GX80.
To elaborate on my DUAL IS comment above, for me, I was not able to shoot any slower speeds with success compared with the Olympus (which uses only the camera's IS), and I also had framing problems with this lens at slow speeds (due to sensor movement) which I do not with the Olympus. Dual IS sounds like a great idea, but with this lens/camera combination, it was not an advantage and introduced issues.
However, that apart this is still a very good lens. I used it mainly on my GX800 once I saw what happened with the GX80. And then I sold it.
Its control feel was quite nice, and made it much nicer to handle than the Olympus. -
Small, sharp, light, fast AF, inexpensive.Min focus distance
This is a real bargain lens. I have no complaints about its performance and I'm pretty fussy. It's as sharp as the Nikon AFS 70-300 VR I used to own and a fraction of the size and weight. I got mine in a white box from a kit so it was silly money for a lens this good.

focus is decent and for a consumer grade telephoto the optics are surprisingly sharp. it is a bet lens at 150mm than the 45-200.
yes I wish it was faster but then it would be much bigger and expensive!
